The Engine Ice brand name is widely respected, and there are thousands of reviews out there from riders who swear by this product. Next up, we have this high performance coolant from Engine Ice. Pre-diluted: ready to use straight awayīest Premium Choice 2.Non-toxic, non-irritating, 100% bio-degradeable, 100% recyclable.Superior heat transfer with a high boiling point.Specially formulated for racing conditions.Plus, you can use it on a variety of other liquid-cooled engines, such as pumps, compressors, electrical generators and more! It’s great for racing motorcycles, regular street bikes, off-roaders, ATVs, and snowmobiles. Bel-Ray’s Moto Chill Racing Coolant is suitable for use in all liquid-cooled, sealed engines. In that respect, it’s as environmentally friendly as a coolant can be, with all of the coolant’s liquid components being biodegradable, breaking down into harmless and environmentally sound molecules. We’ve mentioned that it’s not irritating to the skin, but it’s not harmful to ground water in case of a spillage either. This product is an effective an affordable coolant for your motorcycle, but what we really appreciate most from this Bel-Ray coolant is the fact that it’s both non-toxic and recyclable. Like most coolants, it’s specially formulated to protect your motorcycle from corrosion, whilst simultaneously extending the working life of your cooling system, even those that feature magnesium or aluminum components. This Bel Ray Moto Chill Racing Coolant caught our attention and ranks in first place thanks to the fact that it’s a non-toxic formula manufactured from propylene glycol, ensuring superior heat transfer and the promise of cooler running engines, without putting your health or the environment in any unnecessary danger. It’s a brand name that many riders have come to rely on over the years, and if you’re looking for a high quality but low cost motorcycle coolant, then this product is worth putting in your basket. So how, exactly, does a PG coolant such as Engine Ice, outperform a regular EG coolant? If Engine Ice does in fact outperform EG coolants, why not run Peak Sierra which is also a PG coolant? Or am I wasting my money on a snake oil product and should I just run a normal EG coolant?Best Overall Choice 1. I don't ride on paved tracks, and don't really need a non-toxic coolant. However, doing a bit of research, it seems like PG coolants run hotter than EG coolant, and the main advantage they offer is being non-toxic, and are not slippery (great for track). Since Evans is waterless I would assume it performs the worst, but I think the Maxima coolant is a regular EG coolant? Looking at the fine print, they say it outperforms their competitors, and lists Evans and Maxima. On the Engine Ice bottle, they make several claims, saying it will have better operating temps than their competitors, which was enough to convince me to run it. Recently I learned there were two types of antifreeze - Ethylene glycol, which is used in the vast majority of coolants (green, dexcool, G-05, etc, etc) and propylene glycol, which is used by Engine Ice, and also Peak Sierra coolant. I do slow speed, technical riding that involves lots of clutch work and little airflow so keeping my bike as cool as possible is the priority, with boilover protection a close second priority. On my dirt bike I've been running Engine Ice, but never really thought about why.
